Talented development player elevated
HOME grown talent Edie Easterby has re-signed with the OneFortyOne Pioneers for the 2026 NBL1 South season.
The Millicent rising star was a development player this season and made an immediate impression with her consistent performances and work ethic, quickly establishing herself as a reliable contributor within the lineup.
In her debut NBL1 South season, Easterby averaged 4.32 points, 1.59 assists, and 3.45 rebounds per game, demonstrating her growing confidence, defensive hustle, and ability to impact games in multiple ways.
Easterby also continues to hone her game locally, playing this year with the Millicent Saints in the Country Basketball League (CBL).
Her dual commitments showcase both her dedication to development and her connection with the local basketball community.
Her rise through the Pioneers’ system is a testament to the club’s focus on developing local talent and providing a clear pathway for young athletes to progress into senior competition.
Head coach Matt Sutton said Easterby’s growth in 2025 has laid a strong foundation for what’s ahead in the 2026 season.
“Edie had some great moments last season and she will be looking to build on that for this coming season,” Sutton said. “She’s shooting the ball well and reads play really well.
“She’s a great product of Millicent, a fantastic community in our region that has produced a number of great basketballers.”
Easterby shared her excitement about returning for another season and continuing her development as part of the Pioneers program.
“Really excited to play next season, I’m hoping to keep growing as a player, it’s a real honour to play for such a great club and represent our great community,” Easterby said.
The OneFortyOne Pioneers will tip off their 2026 NBL1 South campaign soon, with several pre-season matchups and community activities planned across the Limestone Coast.
Further player announcements and event details will be released soon.
