CHAMPIONSHIP triples were the titles up for grabs earlier this month at Robe Bowling Club.

The weather was quite windy with the sun hiding behind the clouds throughout the day.

The men’s competition started early this morning with just one match in the first round starting at 9.30am with all other teams having a bye.

Peter Roachock’s team had a good win against Harold Manton’s crew, with the most amazing heads, that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats.

Peter’s team continued their very good bowls to win through the second round and head straight to the final.

David Robinson’s side also showed fine form to win through to the final match and , in the end, it was the Peter Roachock, Peter (Chubb) Gregory and Josh Waddell combination that won the Club Champion Triples title.

Only four teams of ladies competing for the title with Fleur Roachock’s team taking on Heidi Gribble’s team in the first clash.

It was all square after 15 ends so an extra end had to be played with Fleur’s team winning by three shots.

Maria Cooper’s team played Robbie Dahler’s team in the other game and it was also a very close encounter with Robbie’s team winning through to the final.

Robbie Dahler, Carolyn McCusker and Valma Jennings then combined to take out the final and be crowned triples champions.
